Nail artist CHRISTINA CULVER talks nails trends with LUCKY PENNY!
THEY Rep is excited to introduce stylist PATRICIA LAGMAY, who has gone from booker to bookee–having once been the Booker and Marketing & Promotions Manager at THEY Rep and now crossing over to the other side of the agency to become a full time stylist.
For bookings and availability please contact CHRISTINA CULVER at bookings@THEYrep.com or 604.879.2959.
THEY asked Patricia a few questions about herself:
How did you end up here?
I was born in the Philippines and then moved to Los Angeles when I was nine. I then moved from LA to Vancouver and always assumed that I’d eventually have to move back to LA or head east if I wanted to jumpstart my career in fashion. But I ended up interning at THEY Rep and realized that the industry here was rich with not only Canadian clients but lots of international shoots as well. It’s nice to have worked on the other side of the table; it’s definitely given me a clearer understanding of what it’s like to be a freelance artist.
How does your background play a role in your life and how you look at things?
Hearing about my mom’s childhood stories pushes me to take little adventures of my own—personally and professionally. She had an incredible childhood growing up in a resort farm in the Philippines climbing coconut trees, getting chased by eagles and jumping from pond to pond. I think being around the farm when I was younger also carved my soft spot for all things traditional and rustic.
Favourite fashion moment?
When Phoebe Philo came back to Celine after taking time off for her new baby—I’d rather not recollect the moment I found out she was leaving Chloé, that was rough.
What blogs do you check daily?
Knight Cat, Garance Doré, Jak & Jil
