Grand Villa Casino Shoot - Gina Hole, David Ellingsen, Sonia Leal-Serafim, and Leila Bani on set
THEY Representation Inc is the leading agency representing the top photographers, stylists, set decorators, hair and makeup artists within the fashion and advertising industries.
Founded in the international destination of Vancouver, Canada, THEY offers a global yet boutique-style agency, working with clients from across North America as well as around the world.
THEY is committed to representing the very best talent, while also tending to every aspect of their clients’ booking and production needs. The artists represented by THEY contribute to projects including advertising campaigns, fashion, celebrity and editorial photo shoots, working with some of the top clientele worldwide.
THEY’s founder, Gina Hole, has worked for 25 years as a professional Makeup Artist in Vancouver, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Through her years of experience in the business, she successfully balanced a career between makeup & hair for fashion editorials, celebrities, commercials, rock videos, as well as a 14-year career keying makeup for feature films. Working in all mediums of the business gave Gina a strategic advantage as an agent, allowing her to equally understand both her artists’ and clients’ needs.
Having begun her career as an agent, and with her experience booking in Los Angeles, Gina used her expertise to fulfill a long-awaited ambition to open her own agency. Since its launch in 2004, THEY regularly tends to the needs of the varied clientele of Vancouver, as well as its diverse US and worldwide client base. Clients come to shoot at the many different and beautiful locations of the Pacific Northwest, while the photographers that Gina represents enjoy careers shooting locally as well as worldwide.
Gina met her husband Tony Lazarowich (www.pacificwestspecialeffects.com), Special Effects Coordinator and 20 year veteran of the movie industry, while working with him on several different feature films. Gina and Tony now enjoy a great partnership running their companies in the movie and advertising industries, as well as raising their two little girls and two teenage boys with much love and pride.
THEY offers unpaid internships to those individuals who express a vested interest in the fashion and advertising industries. A passion to professionally pursue these fields is essential. While working at THEY, interns will gain direct exposure to all aspects necessary of management, bookings, branding, and coordinating various photo shoots, among other projects. Interns will primarily work as the assistant to Gina Hole, but they will also assist in all aspects involved within the agency including bookings with Louise Park. THEY places a high priority in ensuring that the internship proves to be an invaluable learning experience for the intern.
Interns become an integral part of our office and will handle (after a probationary period) major business tasks within the agency. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is fundamental. Interns should be detail oriented and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Good phone manners are a must! We are flexible in arranging a schedule to suit school or work commitments, but a 24-40 hour work week (3 to 5 work days) for a minimum of three months is required. The office is open from 9:30AM-6:00PM Monday-Friday. Interns must also sign a confidentiality agreement upon commencing.
Please email an updated résumé and cover letter to production@THEYrep.com stating why you would like an internship at THEY Rep.
QUOTES FROM PAST AND PRESENT INTERNS:
PAULINE | Photographer’s Assistant & previous London studio manager:
“The internship at THEY Rep’s agency was truly an amazing and worthwhile experience. Gina provided me with rich information about her business and most interestingly, her role as a photographer’s agent. I also felt privileged to be involved in some of the major shoot productions, as well as meeting the top photographers and artists in town. Doing the internship at THEY has indeed helped me learn fully about commercial photography and grow in my professionalism.”
PATRICIA | 2nd Year Marketing student at UBC & fashion victim:
“Here’s a look at my typical workday as an intern at THEY Rep; the past three hours have consisted of calling several vintage clothing stores, in attempts of locating the immaculate creations of the late Yves Saint Laurent, dealing with bookings for Z!nk Magazine Canada and New York and Leone’s fall fashion campaign shoot, as well as organizing artists to work with legendary photographer Greg Gorman.
I am still in awe of how lucky I am to have found a place at THEY Rep. It is with copious amounts of pleasure that I get to work with the best photographers and artists in Vancouver, our production-maven booker Louise, and the 30-year industry veteran that is Gina Hole.
The only way to describe this experience is to call it the best (and cheapest!) schooling I could ever sign up for. And that’s quite the understatement.”
